I guess it's really hard to tell by cell phone picture. But less bagginess under the eyes, more even skin tone, etc. And a friend has told me that my pores seem smaller and my overall complexion seems to have improved over the last two months.
Here are a few things I've discovered so far in my skin research:
The obvious- Sunscreen! No smoking.
Treat skin gently- shorter, cooler showers, soft soaps, shave carefully, pat dry and moisturize.
Eat healthy
Cleansing only at night (it is possible to over cleanse)
Remove eye makeup with proper makeup remover, do not rub or pull
Hot and cold water can cause broken capillaries
Exfoliate once a week
Moisturize, but not overly so as it can clog pores
I was actually amazed at how many skin treatments I found that can be made using foods I already have in my kitchen. For instance, here is the recipe for a homemade face mask:
1/2 avocado, 1/4 cup of honey. Apply and leave on 10 minutes.
Also, Homemade skin lotion- 1tsp of honey, 1 tsp of lemon juice, 1/2 c of water.
Easy and all natural! Can't wait to try these!
So far, I've purchased a facial cleanser: Purpose brand which I read was a good, gentle one
An exfoliating body wash
Eye makeup remover: store brand that compares to Neutrogena
Face lotion with 15 spf: store brand that compares to Olay
Body lotion which I'm applying after showers: Aveeno Creamy Moisturizing Oil
Now on to learning about makeup application!
